I encourage children to shape their personal and social skills, building confidence in their own abilities developing a positive sense of self.
Reading stories, looking at and talking about books together, singing songs and nursery rhymes are always an important part of our days. I highlight phonemic awarness and provide numerous and varied activities to practise reading and writing skills.
We engage in many activities aimed at developing children's number skills and calculating as well as expanding thier knowledge of shapes, spaces and measures.
Children are always asking 'Why?' We have lots of fun trying to answer some of these questions, from 'Why do cats have tails?' to 'Where have all the worms gone?'
Children love to move around and be active. We love to go to parks, beaches, mountains and swimming pools when we have time but we also have many hours of fun playing in the garden.
Paints, Play-Doh, soft play, chalks, crayons, cutting, sticking, folding, baking, mixing, the list is endless...
Whilst we are not a Welsh speaking setting, we incorporate simple welsh words and phrases into our everyday activities. We also sing Welsh songs and look at Welsh books.
